Q: What do you think can be done in order to reduce racial and ethnic disparities in health care?
A: Education, that is a an education that recognizes the atrocities that has been and still being committed against people of color in our health care system. Secondly a solution driven approach. Pondering on solutions that will help bring a stop to such atrocities and disparities.
Q: Why is it important to have POC in healthcare of different backgrounds?
A: Representation.
Q: Who inspired you as a young child?
A: My mother is my biggest inspiration. Her diligence, dedication and love and care for others are qualities that I try to emulate in my profession.
Q: What motivates you in your current career?
A: As a first generation, college student and a first generation African immigrant in America. I understand that the opportunity to actualize my dreams is a great privilege and with such privilege comes a greater responsibility, that is why I am dedicating my self to being a compassionate, clinical rounded and socially conscious health care worker.
Q: What is your favorite thing about West Virginia?
A: The topography, the natural landscape. And the fact that I can see the stars at night.
Q: Where are you from?
A: I am from Cameroon. In the west- central Africa.
